Why E-Learning?

STC e-learning courses are designed to help you assemble the individual teachings you have heard into a customized strategy for your life.

Most of us have been exposed to courses that purport to show you THE right answer to something.  While there absolutely ARE right answers in science and math, your life is much more of a dynamic art form with hundreds of variables, than it is an algebraic formula with a single right answer.

Thus, the courses are designed to help you develop some skills that might have application to your life and then to encourage you as you explore different ways to weave them in.

Take our class on Conflict Management.  Obviously, your wish and mine is conflict resolution.  But some conflicts simply cannot be resolved at present.

The class takes you through some practice with each of ten different tools that might have implications to your situation.  Then, you can assess your own ongoing conflict and experiment with different combinations of strategies, refining them as needed.

In other words, these e-courses are designed to equip you for different facets of life in the real world.

The school is young and therefore highly dynamic.  We are always experimenting with topics and strategies.  The ultimate goal is not to fill your head with more data, but to equip you to live strategically and effectively.

WHY IS “THINKING CLEARLY PART 1” A MANDATORY COURSE?

Consider this continuum.  In primary school you are expected to learn what is already known – the alphabet, math, history, etc.  Creativity about new ways of doing things, is broadly discouraged.

When you are at the PhD level, you are expected to research something new and write an erudite dissertation about your new idea.

What if you were given permission to be creative sooner in life?  And what if your creativity was derived from your redemptive gift and is legitimately different from mine?  What if you learned how and when to move back and forth between well-established data and creative application of that data?

WHAT IF, you could bring your God ordained creativity to the Word of God without being burned at the stake as a heretic?

Hence, STC 111 Thinking Clearly Part 1.

Home, school, church and work, typically brainwash you with the RIGHT way to do something. Much of that is legit, but the heavy bias toward finding the right answer is not productive for your overall approach to life.

This class on thinking clearly is one long list of permissions.  It is a series of exercises to release the stranglehold that finding the RIGHT answer has on your brain, and invites you to explore any topic with wide parameters, that lead to creativity.

That is why it is a prerequisite for all the other courses except Conflict Management.

Eventually we envision eight courses in the art of being a free thinker who is grounded in truth.

Each of the other courses in STC will have different levels of prerequisites from the Thinking Clearly series, depending on the nature of the class.
