You have mined your journey and identified the principles you have lived out with authority to share. You have ideas and have invested time and energy determining where you can effectively partner with God to impact your community. Now what?
This course gives practical steps to move from a dream to implementation. It won't be a cake walk! Be prepared to invest heavily in your project and grow with others navigating the same passage.
This course will help you think through the next steps: Framing a strategic objective, identifying a compatible business concept, and creating a plan.
There are two models out there: for-profit or non-profit. Both have pitfalls. We will explore hybrid models with an eye towards dominion appropriate to subjects of the Great King. The course includes an overview of non-profit vs for-profit footing, fine tuning your business strategy, writing a business plan, and more.
When the Lord spoke to me years ago about starting a ministry, I told Him if He wanted me to beg and manipulate for funding He needed to tap someone else. His response, “If you will risk for this population, I will meet you every step of the way.” No kidding! He was even enthusiastic about partnering with the likes of me!
He has – though not always like I thought He would.
In the beginning I had several business sharpies who held my feet to the fire, forcing me to do the ground work for creating a non-profit for sex trafficking survivors. Along the way, God gave creative ideas for funding – since He knows that being life-giving is expensive. Program participants baked animal treats; a fee-based diversion program for people arrested for solicitation; and a CEU course for medical professionals on how to identify trafficking victims in the medical setting.
The idea was to create funding streams to support the work we are doing, a deliberate pushback against the powerlessness that engulfs so many leaders in the non-profit sector.
