The Holy Spirit and Creation

Description

Two stories run parallel to one another in the Word of God: the redemption of mankind and the redemption of creation. Yet most of us gloss over the latter, not seeing how our journey and creation’s journey fit together.

What truths would we discover if we studied Scripture from the perspective of creation, rather than from a human-centric perspective?

From the creation story in Genesis to the re-creation of the heavens and the earth in Revelation, God reveals His plans for the incredible complexity of all that He created.

Do we have a place in that plan? If so, what does that look like?

And what exactly does the Holy Spirit have to do with all of this?

God created us to thrive in the abundance of this world, to receive from creation, but also to steward creation. We must do so from a solid foundation of the principles found in the Word of God.

This course is designed as a mandatory prerequisite for the course, When Creation Calls, which is a hands-on, practical course with a focus on discovering and unpacking the creation components of your own unique design.

The Holy Spirit and Creation is open to anyone regardless of whether or not you are interested in pursuing the subsequent course.

Bio

When I became a Christian in my early 20s, God planted me in an Evangelical church that placed the Holy Spirit in a box labeled “Years Gone By.” Without being able to hear from the Holy Spirit, the Word of God was their only source of wisdom and understanding.

During those years I was introduced to Inductive Bible Study methods, I taught Inductive Bible Study courses, and I grew to love the Scriptures. They are an onramp to intimacy and awe for me.

Once He had grounded me in the Word, God began to move me through a series of different theological circles, and about 15 years ago, God very overtly and intentionally introduced me to SLG. It was there that I began to understand who God had created me to be, and that part of my calling is to creation.

I am not alone. Looking through Scripture we can see individuals who were creation-oriented, who were called to steward various aspects of creation.

It is my privilege to offer this course to anyone who has a desire to learn what the Scriptures reveal about the Holy Spirit and creation.
